The person behind this

Hi, I’m Eugene. I built this.

ONEWORD.ONLINE is a one-person project. There is no company behind it, no growth team, no content calendar. There is one person who kept noticing the same thing: the internet asks us to perform, and almost never asks us to simply answer.

Why one question a day

Journaling never stuck with me — too many blank pages. Social media stuck too well — too many performances. I wanted the smallest possible honest act: one question, the same one for everyone on Earth, and a single word in reply. Thirty seconds. No username, no photo, no audience to impress. You answer, you see what strangers in dozens of countries said, and tomorrow there is a new question.

Why only one word

Because one word is the most honest unit of language. A sentence can hedge. A paragraph can perform. One word has nowhere to hide — when strangers around the world each pick one, the cloud that forms is the closest thing I know to the world’s mood, unedited.

The rules I hold myself to

Answers are anonymous and stay that way: no accounts, no selling data, no dark patterns. Your personal word journal lives only in your own browser. Each day seals at 12:00 UTC and is never edited afterwards — including by me. The site is funded by ordinary ads, never by your data. The full legal detail lives in the privacy policy and terms; the human version is this paragraph.

Say hello

Questions, ideas, a word that changed your week — I read everything that comes through the contact page. And if you are new here: the fastest way to understand this site is not to read about it, but to answer it.
